Two Dimensional Work by Bruce Lindsay (May 4-24)
Roebling Gallery is pleased to exhibit paintings, mono-prints, and photographs by Bruce Lindsay. Now living in Trenton, Bruce is best known as a sculptor. But we’re huge fans of his 2D work, which we feature in our inaugural exhibit.
Opening Reception: First Friday, May 4, 5 PM – 8 PM
Bruce will be attending the reception and showing some small sculptures for one evening only.
Shown: Interior Landscape #1, 24″ x 48″, acrylic painting on board.
From the artist: “The Interior Landscape series are 24×48 abstract paintings, using black pigment on a white ground. These paintings were created in the experimental spirit of the Surrealist’s decalcomania. Mica flakes add the bling. The subject may be perceived of as either a dimly lit cave or deep space. The interpretation is up to you.”
Roebling Gallery exhibits work by emerging and newly established artists with an emphasis on large-format, urban-themed work. We actively build bridges connecting local artists to the regional art scene, and vice versa.
Coupling Triptych #1
The Coupling series are 24×18 photographs of hyper-realistic cast metal sculpture. The subjects of Coupling are typically large sycamore leaves composed in pairs. Green leaves were thickened with wax, formed, and translated into bronze via the lost-wax process, then photographed.
