A row of vacant homes on Sandford Street, a one-block, one-way street near the Trenton Battle Monument. It is also one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in the City. A recent Trentonian article by journalist L.A. parker called it one of the most neglected sections in Trenton where nearly half of the 40 homes are vacant. He writes, "This street represents social pressure and survival where people who need more attention than most, receive no consideration, not a glance, no acknowledgment, nothing. Without a voice in conversations and no government representation, Sanford St. residents face ginormous challenges. Imagine what has occurred in the psychological fabric of those people still living here."
